The series' official Twitter account made the announcement regarding the short break on Feb. 2. This announcement marks the second break Horikoshi had taken since December, when the series went on a one-week hiatus for the same reason. Previously, the manga has gone on a series of breaks, including at least two in 2021, which led to Horikoshi apologizing for the hiatus, saying, "I'm sorry for all the breaks. My schedule is a mess. I'm getting back on track."

It was a true honor to know and work with Mr. Ritter at the Gatesville unit. He always had a way to make you smile. He will be missed by all. So sorry for your loss, many prayers go out to his beloved family.
I am so sorry for your loss I meet Dub when I worked at Gatesville unit. He was my mentor and a great friend I would spend hours talking to him when we both worked the pickets. I remember when he told me he was building his home and also talked to me about how much he loved his wife and children.
